Biography:

Ben Adkins is a consultant, speaker and trainer in the areas of workplace conflict, leadership, and personal effectiveness. Since 1985 he has presented more than 2,800 workshops, seminars, training classes and management retreats throughout North America and abroad. Ben’s audiences laugh and learn while being inspired to achieve personal and professional excellence

Ben’s background includes being an executive with a national distribution company and later the founder of two businesses in Chicago and Dallas. In 1985, he co-founded Adkins & Associates to provide tools for increased effectiveness to public and private sector organizations.

For five years Ben was a weekly columnist in the Fort Worth Business Press, and is the author of numerous training programs, articles and publications as well as a monthly e-newsletter. His management articles have appeared in The Physician Manager, The Practical Prosecutor, and numerous trade publications and company newsletters. He is a contributing author of National College of District Attorneys publications Managing the Prosecutors Office, Managing Prosecutors, and the Office Administration Handbook. His latest book, Power Tools for Executives, was published in 2006.

Ben is an experienced mediator and conflict resolution specialist. He is a board member of Tarrant County Association of Mediators, and a certified coach, master trainer and consultant with Mediation Training Institute International.

Ben is currently an adjunct faculty member of the National College of District Attorneys, for whom he lectures on leadership, office productivity and workplace conflict resolution. Ben was awarded NCDA’s Lecturer of Merit in 1993 and the Distinguished Faculty Award in 2007, an honor bestowed to the top three percent of faculty members.

In addition to corporate clients and associations, Ben is an approved trainer for the US Department of Defense. He also provides training for United States Postal Service, Department of Energy, and the Justice Department, as well as professional development and training programs for State, County and City Governments throughout the United States.

Ben is a professional member of the National Speakers Association and a past board member of the American Society of Training and Development.
