Biography:
Born and raised in Dayton, OH, as Kaci Chamone Winslow, Kaci C. Myers has always been a determined young woman. Having spent most of her youth around older cousins and friends, Ms. Winslow missed the opportunity to live a carefree childhood. In addition to growing up quickly, after dropping out of high school at 17-years-old Kaci made the decision to follow a path of achievement rather than giving in to a life of mediocrity and uncertainty. Within 6 months of withdrawal from high school Ms. Myers received her GED and enlisted in the United States Army with the consent of her mother, after having been convinced that the experience would be life changing and affirming.
Kaci served 3 years 9 months and 15 days in the Active Duty Army. During her service, she spent 1 year in Wonju, Korea and 2 years in Fort Riley, KS. During her tour in Kansas, Mrs. Myers volunteered to join her comrades on a deployment to Iraq 6 Months after OIF began. Mrs. Myers had undergone surgery on her leg a few months prior and made the profound decision to get released from the restrictions given to her by physicians so that she could serve side by side with her peers who she considered family.
After serving 4 months in Iraq, enduring several attacks from the enemy, Mrs. Myers was sent home due to post surgery problems. Mrs. Myers was then medically discharged from the Army with an Honorable Discharge.
She graduated from Javelin Technical (School/College) in 2005 with a certificate in Medical Billing and Coding/ Office Professional and briefly attended Gwinnett Technical College where she studied Banking and Finance. Inspired by her own imperfections and the many people who doubted her inner strength and the ability to succeed Kaci self-published her first novel in 2006, an autobiography entitled “It’s My Time.”
Now, Mrs. Myers resides in Atlanta, Ga with her husband Wendal L. Myers where she continues to stack accomplishments. Mr. and Mrs. Myers future goals and aspirations include funding and operating a bank, beginning a successfu career as an author, and spreading her success through motivational speaking to all those who need to know that regardless of where they come from the have the power to determine where they are going.
